Genetic and Familial Factors in Depression and Suicidal Behavior
(J. John Mann, MD; IRB # 4206)

This study examines depressed patients and their children to investigate environmental and genetic contributions to mood and suicidal behavior. No medication washout is necessary. Each family member receives up to $100 for a blood sample and a confidential interview. This is not a treatment study.

Eligibility:

Patient must be under the age of 81

bullet

Patient must have at least one child over the age of 10

bullet

Patient must have once taken, or be currently taking, medication for depression

Benefits to participant:

Up to $100 for each family member who participates.
