If you are a parent or caregiver of a young adult (under 25) with mental illness, feel comfortable with your child's diagnosis, are a good listener and non-judgmental and are willing to share some of your experiences with other parents, then the Parent Matching Program needs you! NYC Depression & Mood Disorder Group
What We Do At each meeting, we first gather for introductions & announcements. We then divide into smaller groups, led by trained facilitators, who have experience facilitating the exchange of experiences & ideas in group settings. Smaller groups provide the safe haven for members to share personal experiences & feelings. Although we encourage all members to share experiences, those who wish to observe without speaking are welcome. We request that all discussions remain confidential, to allow members to feel safe discussing all aspects of living with a mood disorder.
We welcome your participation, and ask that you arrive promptly, so we may begin on time. If you are late, please enter quietly so as to not disrupt groups already in progress.

Before attending your first meeting, please send an e-mail with your name, phone number & times you can be reached. A group member will call & answer our questions about the group, & provide location information.
