Environment of Care Committee:
Mission

At the direction of the Governing Body, the Environment of Care Committee (EOCC) will work proactively with staff and other resources to:

  • Gather relevant information internally and from society at-large in light of:
    • Institute experiences
    • Applicable laws and regulations
    • Generally accepted practices
  • Use information to assess actual and potential risk management issues related to the physical plant, grounds, vehicles, property, equipment and services
  • Develop or approve recommendations for their resolution.
  • Develop and evaluate performance standards for all aspects of the program.
  • Report and make recommendations to the Governing Body, the Medical Staff Committee, the Administration, and directors of departmental services.
  • The EOCC sponsors educational programs related to the Environment of Care for all staff and volunteers, including timely orientation of new employees.

Through its Chairperson and the Chief Safety & Security Officer, The Environment of Care Committee (EOCC) is empowered to take special and immediate actions to ensure that the Institute provides a safe and secure environment for patients, employees and visitors in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and accepted practice.

  • Participate in the Institute's interdisciplinary program of continuing evaluation and improvement.
    • The Committee Chairperson and other EOCC members are also members of other Institute Committees to foster the sharing of information and ideas for improvement, 
    • Quality Improvement Council
    • Infection Control Committee
    • Information Management Committee
