Environment of Care Committee: 
Duties of the Chief Safety & Security Officer
  • Reporting to the Institute's Deputy Director for Administration: 
    • Supervise the Safety & Security Department to conduct the daily functions of the Safety Program for the Institute and the Washington Heights Community Service
    • Stand-in for the COEC Chairperson during the Chairperson's absence
    • Plan and conduct training sessions for all staff regardless of funding source
    • Conducts investigations of accidents and incidents
      • Reports on results and makes recommendations to the Committee
      • Revises reporting mechanisms as needed to improve function
    • Takes emergency actions as needed to ensure the safety and security of people and property.
