Data collected by various groups and individuals is analyzed and reported to administrative groups - including the Governing Body, Medical Staff, and the Environment of Care Committee (EOCC) - for consideration and action as appropriate.

  • Safety & Security Officers make rounds on all shifts to monitor conditions, take emergency corrective action, and/or report/record findings.
  • Safety & Security Officers regularly inspect elements of the safety/security program including:
    • Fire extinguishers
    • Egress routes
    • Fire/Smoke barrier doors
    • Door closers, locks and latches
    • Exterior grounds and driveways
  • Infection Control staff perform inspections in all areas likely to be of concern for infectious disease, etc. Findings are analyzed and reported to the Infection Control Committee and other bodies.
  • Administrators make scheduled and unscheduled rounds throughout the facility to make observations, gather and analyze data, and assist in the risk assessment process.

Data on internal conditions is often examined in light of events and trends in the healthcare/research community and the community-at-large.
