All aspects
of the Institute's cohesive interdisciplinary program for Managing the
Environment of Care are involved in an ongoing process of evaluation
and improvement wherein:

goals and standards are established for the coming year.

All done successfully in 1999: There were several
events and incidents which tested the Institute's response to actual
emergencies (e.g., prolonged electric power failure in the surrounding
area, burst high temperature water line, Y2K preparation).
Response plans proved effective. Staff performed admirably.
Medical
Equipment Management

Therapeutic
Environment
The Institute's
new building - opened in 1998 - provides a safe therapeutic environment.
All Institute
staff strive to provide all patients with appropriate meals, recreational
opportunities, access to telephones, reasonable privacy, and appropriate
clothing and personal materials. Visiting hours are maintained appropriate
to each patient's needs and condition.
Utility
Systems
