Educational Activities

As part of a broad program of continuous staff education, the Environment of Care Committee sponsors various educational activities related to safety and the other components of the EOC. These programs are intended to impress upon all staff the Institute's ongoing commitment to providing a safe and therapeutic environment.

These activities are conducted in coordination with the Departments of Education & Training, Infection Control, Safety & Security, and Engineering. 

All staff - regardless of funding source - are expected to participate. Attendance lists and/or other appropriate documentation are maintained and reviewed by the EOCC.

These facility-wide activities supplement the ongoing orientation and training process which takes place at each employee's worksite. There staff are given detailed information about specific job-related hazards and prudent practices. Site-specific hazards are posted as appropriate to alert staff or others who may be unfamiliar with special or temporary local conditions.
