Safety Department

Leigh Gholson, Chief Safety Officer

The Safety Department’s dedicated staff of officers works twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to ensure the personal safety of all staff, patients and visitors to the Institute, and to secure the facility from harm. P.I.’s long-time Chief Willie Herriott retired in 2001after more than 20 years of service. He will be missed by many. In 2002 Leigh Gholson joined the Department as Chief Safety Officer. Under Chief Gholson’s direction, the Safety Department has initiated projects to upgrade and improve some of the Institute’s safety systems. These projects include a program to integrate the surveillance systems between the PI Main building and the Kolb Annex, and a program to improve security on the Parking Level.

Remember- SAFETY COMES FIRST!
